Shopify Flow · integrations · exception handling

Shopify automations that hold up on real orders.

Sidekick can draft a basic Flow workflow. I build the harder ones: multi-app routing, API and webhook steps, and the exception paths that decide what happens when something fails. Each build is tested, documented, and handed to you to switch on.

The audit fee is credited toward your build if you go ahead within 30 days.

Is this for you

If Sidekick already gets it right, you don't need me.

Shopify's built-in assistant is good at simple tagging and alert workflows, and it's free. This service covers the work Shopify's own documentation says still needs a person.

Sidekick handles well

  • Tagging customers and orders
  • Email and Slack notifications
  • Simple inventory alerts
  • Scheduled single-step automations

Where I come in

  • Workflows that need advanced Liquid or custom logic
  • Fixing or extending workflows you already have
  • Connecting Shopify to Klaviyo, Sheets, Airtable, a CRM, or a 3PL
  • API calls, webhooks, and n8n or Make scenarios tied to Shopify
  • Failure handling: retries, holds, and alerts that reach a person

Typical builds

What a build usually looks like

Fulfillment routing

Order created→Check location + product rules→Route to right 3PL→Tag→Alert on rejection

Orders go to the correct fulfillment partner without anyone sorting them by hand.

Inventory monitoring

Inventory changed→Compare thresholds→Update external sheet→Notify buyer

Low stock reaches the person who reorders, with the numbers already logged.

Order exception queue

Order paid→Detect unusual conditions→Auto-process normal orders→Flag the rest

Your team only looks at the orders that actually need a human.

Shopify to an outside API

Shopify event→Transform data→Call API→Validate response→Alert on failure

Another system stays in sync, and a failed call gets noticed instead of silently dropped.

Recorded runs

Watch the builds run

Three automations running live in Make against a Shopify test store. Each video ends with what was checked in Shopify, Google Sheets, and the inbox right after the run.

Order exception queue

Orders over $1,000, missing a zip, or marked RUSH are tagged for review and trigger an alert. Everything else is approved automatically.

Low-stock report to Google Sheets

Every morning, items down to 1–4 units are logged to a sheet and the owner gets an alert for each.

3PL handoff with failure alerts

Warehouse orders are sent to a fulfillment API. Accepted orders get the shipment ID; rejected ones are tagged and flagged instead of sitting unfulfilled.

Recorded on a test store with test orders. The fulfillment endpoint in the third video is a test service that validates addresses the way a real 3PL does.

Pricing

Two fixed prices. No hourly billing.

Start the audit

How it works

Mostly written, no sales calls

  1. Tell me the process

Fill in the intake below, then pay through secure checkout.

  2. Grant access

Approve a collaborator request from your Shopify admin. No passwords.

  3. I build and test

Built with Flow test runs and sample data before anything touches live orders.

  4. You switch it on

You review the documentation and activate it yourself.

Safeguards

Your store stays under your control

You activate

Nothing is switched on in your live store without your approval.

Collaborator access only

Access goes through Shopify's collaborator system, and you can revoke it any time.

Tested first

Flow test runs check the logic before handover. Some third-party actions can't be fully simulated, and the documentation says which.

What are you starting with?
Which services are involved?

Never enter passwords here. Access is granted later through a Shopify collaborator request.

Questions

Before you buy

Why not just use Sidekick?

If Sidekick builds what you need correctly, use it. It's free. This service is for workflows that involve several apps, custom logic, outside APIs, or failure handling that Sidekick drafts leave out.

Do you need my password?

No. You approve a Shopify collaborator request, which gives limited access you can remove at any time. Other apps are connected through their own authorization screens.

What if my project is bigger than one build?

You get a fixed quote for the extra work before anything beyond the standard scope starts. Nothing is billed without your approval.

What's the refund policy?

The audit is refunded in full if the written plan isn't delivered within 3 business days. A build is refunded in full if you cancel before work starts. Once work starts, the included revision covers fixes to the agreed scope.

Will you be on calls?

Rarely. Most projects run through the intake, written updates, and documentation, so you can review everything on your own schedule. Messages get a reply within one business day.

Terms

Service terms, in plain English

By paying, you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.

1. Scope

The price covers only the scope described on this page: for an audit, a written plan, an AI data check of your connected apps, and a fixed build quote; for a build, one primary automation system with up to two external app or API integrations, testing where supported, documentation, and one revision. Anything beyond that gets a separate written quote, and no extra work starts or is billed without your written approval.

2. You approve and activate

You review the documentation and switch the automation on in your live store yourself. Nothing is intentionally activated on your live store without your approval. Some third-party actions can't be fully simulated in testing, and the documentation says which.

3. Access

Access is through Shopify's collaborator system and each app's own authorization screen. Passwords are never requested or accepted. You can revoke access at any time.

4. Refunds

Audit: refunded in full if the written plan isn't delivered within 3 business days. Build: refunded in full if you cancel before work starts. Once work starts, the included revision covers fixes to the agreed scope. Refunds go back to the original payment method.

5. Liability

Total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you paid for it. The service isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost sales or profits, or for changes made to your store or apps by you, Shopify, or third parties after handover. You're responsible for reviewing an automation before you activate it.

6. Who you're buying from

GetShopAgent is operated by Makelifefair.store LLC, which appears as the merchant on your checkout. It's an independent service, not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify. Questions: monterio@makelifefair.store

7. How the work is done

I run this service alongside other work, so messages get a reply within one business day, and projects run through written updates rather than live calls. Plans and builds are written with the help of AI coding tools, then tested with test runs and sample data before handover. The delivery times and refund terms above apply either way.

8. Findings are technical, not legal advice

Audits and checks report what scripts, trackers, AI crawlers and settings on your store do at the time they were checked. They are technical findings, not legal advice, and they don't certify that your store complies with any law. For legal questions, talk to a lawyer.
